Its funny to think that Serato will soon be looked at as “retro.” Pioneer Pro Dj has Just released the scopes on the New CDJ 2000 Nexus. Along with some new features and a 6.1 LCD screen, one of the biggest features is the Quantize button or in lament terms, the “Sync” button, which will allow the user to no longer need to beat match by ear or watching wave forms on computer screens.
I’m not really sure how i feel about this. I feel that the laptop era did take alot out of djing, it also brought alot back in. Djs were forced to step their game up with the availability of so much music. At the same time, you had to work harder to fight off these low ball Djs for gigs and those who are just smoke and mirrors on social media networks. I have a sincere admiration for authentic djs who put their work in but with Djing being a trend that anyone with a laptop can jump on the decks, I have respect for only a few.
